MS Linguistics is a two-year program designed to deepen the understanding of students regarding the issues in the field of Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, and English Language Teaching. This program will help students address their professional, academic, and research needs. The first year of the study will be spent on grasping the theoretical understanding of the field and the research skills required for producing the Master’s thesis completing a total of 8 courses worth 24 credit hours. In the second year, students will take on a 6-credit hour thesis under a supervision of a designated supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria

  • A 16 year Bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics, English Applied Linguistics, or ELT from an HEC recognized university. Candidates having other than these specializations will have to opt for deficiency courses as per the HEC policy.
  • No less than 2nd class (2.5 CGPA) in Bachelor’s degree.
  • Students must clear the University Entrance/Admission Test
  • GAT General score of minimum 50 percent (to be submitted at the time of admission or during the first semester).
