She has four research publications to her credit and has also participated in various conferences related to her field of specialization.
Naureen Aleem, PhD

Dr.Noreen Aleem holds, Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Federal Urdu University Karachi in 2016. Her Ph.D. dissertation was a focus on Investigative Journalism. She has published seven research papers. National and International Journals she has twelve years teaching experience she taught as a lecturer in University of Karachi from August 2016 to 2019 She has taught in Federal URDU University of Arts, Science & Technology Karachi from 2008 to 2018 Taught in Allama Iqbal Open University as a tutor 2010 to 2018 taught in Abdullah Govt College North Nazimabad as Co-Operative Lecturer 2005 to 2011 She had seven years of Professional Experiences. She has worked as a reporter in Daily Nai Baat (2012 to 2013) She has worked as a Court reporter in Daily Aajkal (2007 to 2012). She has worked as a feature writer in Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) (2005 to 2007) She has worked as a sub-editor in Pakistan Press International (PPI). She has worked in Daily Qumi Akhbar. worked in Daily Jang Karachi as Internee.
Sana Shahid, PhD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Sana has over 12 years of experience in teaching and research. She has been associated with Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) as an Assistant Professor since 2019. She has completed her doctoral studies in the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Karachi. She has earned a Shield Award for securing the first position in her MPhil program and a Certificate for achieving the highest CGPA in both her MPhil and Ph.D. programs while maintaining the highest grades. The Provincial Assembly of Sindh has awarded the Maymar-e-Watan award for my extraordinary performance on Radio Pakistan. She also holds a Master’s degree in English Literature. She has several research paper publications in Scopus and peer-reviewed international journals with impact factors, including Web of Science. She has also contributed chapters to international publications, including Springer. Sana has actively contributed to academic conferences by presenting research papers on media-related topics. She has worked in various reputable educational institutions, including AAWAZ Institute of Media and Management Sciences, Jinnah University for Women, and Greenwich University. She has also worked professionally at Radio Pakistan as a host. She also served as Director, Centre for Excellence in Journalism, Associate Editor, and then Editor of the Journal of Social Sciences and Media Studies. She is a Member of the Board of Faculty at SMIU, a Member of the Board of Studies at SMIU and Greenwich University, and a Member of the Board of Reviewer for the Journal of Media and Communication at Ilma University. She also serves as a Member of the Board of External Reviewer at the University of Sindh and as a Member of the Board of Reviewer for the Journal of Mass Communication at the University of Karachi. Dr. Sana has attended various professional training programs and workshops, including a Faculty Development Program by Sindh Higher Education Commission and PLS-SEM workshops. Her research interests include online pedagogy, human rights, development support communication, and climate change.
Nousheen Hussain, M.A
Lecturer
Ms. Nousheen Hussain possesses an M.A. degree in Mass Communication from the University of Karachi. She has been employed in the Department of Media Studies at SMIU ever since its inauguration in 2012. Prior to joining this University, she had worked as Editor of the ladies’ journals, Femina and Dastak, published from Karachi. An altruistic personality, her close association with projects imparting training to female journalists has often been highlighted and appreciated by her mentors, both here as well as in Germany, a country which she had the opportunity of visiting at her sponsor’s invitation. She is a conscientious teacher and enjoys teaching Creative Journalism and the History of Ancient Art to her students at SMIU.
Hadia Khalil, M.A
Lecturer
Ms. Hadia Khalil attained her Master’s degree in Mass communication in the year 2011. She is a Gold medalist of her batch and is currently pursuing her MS in Mass communication from the University of Karachi. She has been serving in the field of electronic and print media since 2010. She has had the distinction of having worked both for PTV as well as the popular private TV channel ARY. She has also written several articles for different newspapers.
Ifrah Imam, MA

Ms. Ifrah Imam holds an MA, mass communication degree from Karachi University. She has been teaching since the last five years in different institutions. She writes for various newspapers and her interests include print, broadcast, photo Journalism, development support communication and commercial art/advertising. She does blogging, photography and sketching as well.
Khushboo, M.A
Lecturer
Ms. Khushboo has an M.A. degree in Mass Communication from University of Karachi. Currently, she is enrolled in the M.Phil program there. With a wealth of experience in the field of Media and Public Relations, she has previously worked with channels like PTV, Geo News and News One. She also has a substantial working experience at a leading PR agency and has also taught Mass Communication and Media related disciplines at University of Karachi. She has won many laurels in various debating and writing competitions at district and national levels and is keenly interested in research and creative writing.
Sidra Agha, MS
Lecturer
Ms. Sidra Agha holds MS in Media Studies from Riphah International University Islamabad and MSC in Mass Communication from National University of Modern Languages Islamabad. She has specialized in conflict studies and her research study on Embedded Journalism is the pioneer work in Pakistan. She has been awarded a gold medal by the President of Pakistan for her academic excellence. She has been the meritorious student in Riphah. She has worked with several foreign clients and websites as a freelance writer and has also been the PR Manager of Australian Education Agency as well as writer in few English magazine. Currently she is working on research papers on Conflict studies as she also aspires to do PHD.
