Subhash Guriro, PhD

Dr. Subhash is an experienced teacher, researcher and development professional in the field of Development since more than 15 years. Dr. Subhash has done PhD in Development Studies from Sindh Development Studies Centre, University of Sindh, Jamshoro. His PhD dissertation was focused on microfinance and poverty in Sindh. His areas of research interests include: rural and urban development, poverty, microfinance, climate change, public health and social issues in Pakistan. He has published 17 research articles in reputed journals and attended several workshops and conferences at national and international level. He has served as a visiting guest lecturer at Berlin School of Economics and Law in Germany.
Muhammad Kamil Lakho, PhD

Dr. Muhammad Kamil Lakho is a distinguished scholar and educator with a PhD in Sociology and an LLB degree from the University of Karachi. Since 2012, he has been teaching sociology and related subjects at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) with exceptional competence.
Dr. Lakho’s research interests encompass a broad range of fields, including sociology, socio-legal studies, sociology of law, justice studies, social problems, cultural studies, social change and development, gender studies, and media ethics. He has authored 23 research papers, published in reputable national and international journals, solidifying his reputation as a respected scholar.
Dr. Lakho has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills through various roles at SMIU, including membership in the Academic Council and Senate of SMIU. He has worked as an assistant editor for the Journal of Social Sciences and Media Studies (JOSSAMS) and as Manager of the Executive Body of the SMIU Alumni Association. Currently, he serves on the Board of Studies (BoS), Department of Social & Development Studies, member as well as secretary of the Board of Faculty (BoF), Faculty of Social Sciences, and member of the Departmental Research Committee (DRC), Department of Social & Development Studies. Additionally, he is the Factotum of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
